چکیده

We consider a nanoelectromechanical weak link composed of carbon nanotube suspended above trench in normal metal electrode and positioned gap between two superconducting leads. The is treated as movable single-level quantum dot which the position-dependent order parameter induced result Cooper pair tunneling. show that such system, self-sustained bending vibrations can emerge if bias voltage applied. occurrence this effect crucially depends on direction relative position level. also demonstrate strongly affect dc current through characteristic be used for direct experimental observation predicted phenomenon.

Reversibility of superconducting nb weak links driven by the proximity effect in a quantum interference device.

We demonstrate the role of the proximity effect in the thermal hysteresis of superconducting constrictions. From the analysis of successive thermal instabilities in the transport characteristics of micron-size superconducting quantum interference devices with a well-controlled geometry, we obtain a complete picture of the different thermal regimes. These determine whether or not the junctions a...

Quantitative simulation of the superconducting proximity effect

A numerical method is developed to calculate the transition temperature of double or multilayers consisting of films of superconductors and normal conductors. The approach is based on a dynamic interpretation of Gorkov’s linear gap equation and is very flexible. The mean free path l of the different metals, transmission through the interface, ratio of specular reflection to diffusive scattering...

Spin-polarized proximity effect in superconducting junctions

We study spin dependent phonomena in superconducting junctions in both ballistic and diffusive regimes. For ballistic junctions we study both ferromagnet / sand d-wave superconductor junctions and two dimensional electron gas / s-wave superconductor junctions with Rashba spin-orbit coupling. It is shown that the exchange field alway suppresses the conductance while the Rashba spin-orbit couplin...

Modeling Tunneling for the Unconventional Superconducting Proximity Effect

Recently there has been reinvigorated interest in the superconducting proximity effect, driven by predictions of the emergence of Majorana fermions. To help guide this search, we have developed a phenomenological model for the tunneling spectra in anisotropic superconductor-normal metal proximity devices. We combine successful approaches used in s-wave proximity and standard d-wave tunneling to...
